Muhammad Ali's Story
Muhammad Ali, a 13-year-old boy from Fateh Jang, has been suffering from a right indirect inguinal hernia since birth. Despite the persistent discomfort and the potential health risks, Ali’s family has been unable to afford the necessary medical treatment. In consultation with a doctor, Ali underwent various tests and an ultrasound, which confirmed the diagnosis of a right indirect inguinal hernia. The doctor advised Ali to undergo a herniorrhaphy, a surgical procedure to repair the hernia.
Ali’s family, however, faces significant financial challenges. They live in a rented room in a village near Fateh Jang, with Ali’s parents and three siblings. His father works at an electronics shop, while his mother teaches tuition classes. Together, they earn approximately 50,000 PKR per month. However, this income is barely enough to cover their monthly expenses, which include 10,000 PKR in rent, 6,000 PKR in utility bills, 5,000 PKR in school fees, and a 30,000 PKR loan payment. With the father as the sole breadwinner, the family’s financial condition is precarious, and they simply cannot afford the cost of the surgical procedure that Ali requires.
Ali said in despair:
The constant discomfort and the fear of potential health complications have been a constant burden on me and my family. The thought of undergoing the necessary surgery to repair my hernia has been a source of immense stress for my family, as the cost of the procedure is far beyond our means. I humbly thank you for your support and assistance in this time of need. I pray that you will consider my request and extend a helping hand during this difficult time.”
