Anaya Fatima's Story

Anaya was born with a serious congenital heart defect. Only an Open-Heart Surgery can save her life, but her father cannot bear the expense of this costly surgery due to financial constraints. One-and-a-half-year-old Anaya, a resident of Lahore, suffers from shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, and irregular heartbeat. She is also unable to gain weight. Her parents came to know about her condition when she was only five months old. After running some diagnostic tests, her cardiologist diagnosed her with Tetralogy of Fallot. It is a birth defect that affects the normal flow of blood through the heart. The cardiovascular surgeon advised her to undergo Open-Heart Surgery for Total Correction after Angiography.

She lives in a small house with her parents and two siblings in a small house. Her father earns just PKR 35,000 per month. With this limited income, he cannot afford the surgical expenses. Her father said in despair:
