Shumaila Bibi's Story

At the tender age of 24, Shumaila Bibi, a resident of Karachi, is facing the momentous challenge of a triple pregnancy. This young mother’s journey to expand her family has already been marked by a previous cesarean section, and now she stands before an even more daunting medical hurdle.

Shumaila’s circumstances paint a picture of resilience and financial strain. As a devoted housewife, she relies solely on her husband’s modest income as a daily wager, earning a monthly sum of PKR 30,000. This meager amount barely covers the essential expenses of their family of five, which includes her husband, their young child, and Shumaila’s elderly mother-in-law.

Despite residing in their own home, the family’s financial condition remains precarious. Utility bills, school fees, and other necessary costs consume a significant portion of their limited resources, leaving them in a constant struggle to make ends meet.

Shumaila’s husband, the family’s sole breadwinner, shoulders the responsibility of providing for his aging mother, his wife, and their growing brood. With no additional support or resources to draw upon, the family finds themselves in a deeply challenging situation, unable to afford the surgical expenses associated with Shumaila’s impending cesarean delivery.

In a heartfelt appeal, Shumaila expresses her concerns:

“The joy of welcoming three new lives into our family is tempered by the immense financial burden we face. I understand the importance of a safe delivery, especially after my previous cesarean, but the thought of the medical costs overwhelming our limited resources is a constant source of worry. Your support could make all the difference, not just for me, but for the future of my family.”

Shumaila’s financial circumstances have left her unable to cover the expenses of her scheduled cesarean section. Her family’s reliance on a single, modest income has placed an immense strain on their well-being, leaving them in dire need of assistance.

Your generosity can alleviate the financial burden and ensure that Shumaila receives the care she and her unborn children need during this critical time. No amount is too small, and every contribution will directly support the medical expenses associated with her high-risk triple pregnancy delivery.

Let us come together and make a difference in their lives, allowing them to embrace their growing family with the care and support they deserve

Shumaila Bibi's Story

Shumaila Bibi, a 24-year-old woman from Karachi, was filled with anticipation as she approached the end of her second pregnancy. She had already undergone one C-section with her first child, which led her gynecologist to carefully monitor her pregnancy. After several checkups and considering her medical history, the doctor recommended an elective C-section for Shumaila. The decision was made to prevent any complications that might arise from attempting a natural delivery after her previous surgery. However, Shumaila’s family was unable to pay for her surgery.

Shumaila lived in a small brick house with her five family members. Her husband, the sole breadwinner in the family, worked as a daily wage laborer and used to make just PKR 30,000 per month. With this insufficient monthly income, they barely covered their necessities. They had limited resources and no savings at all to pay for Shumaila’s C-section. During this time of need, Shumaila turned to Transparent Hands and asked us for help. We listened to her concerns and swiftly registered her case. On 03-08-2024, Shumaila was admitted to Murshid Hospital in Karachi. Dr. Farkhanda Saeed carefully managed her case and performed the surgery. The C-section was successful, and Shumaila delivered a beautiful baby girl. Shumaila’s happiness was indescribable when she held her newborn in her arms, knowing she and her baby were safe. She was hospitalized for three days and received necessary medications and care from the medical staff. Shumaila said: “Being pregnant with my second child, I was in desperate need of help. You stepped in and provided support which I needed at such a challenging time. I’m beyond grateful." You made a meaningful impact on her life, allowing her to embrace motherhood once again with joy and hope. She is on her way to beginning a new chapter of her life filled with happiness and love. You changed Shumaila’s life and we are grateful for it.
