One-year-old Muhammad Zohan, a resident of Haripur, has the opportunity to transform his life with a cochlear implant. His inability to hear has hindered his education and social development, causing great distress to his family. Muhammad Zohan’s parents first noticed his hearing difficulties when he was one year old and failed to respond to their voices. Concerned, they took him to the local hospital, where tests revealed that he had congenital sensorineural hearing loss. The doctors recommended cochlear implant surgery as a solution to restore his hearing. A cochlear implant works by electrically stimulating the cochlear nerve, consisting of external and internal components. The external part is attached behind the ear, processing sounds with a microphone before sending them to the implant inside the ear.

Muhammad Zohan lives with his parents and three siblings in Haripur. His father is the sole provider for the family, earning a monthly salary of PKR 26,000. Unfortunately, this amount is not enough to cover the cost of the surgery, and they are in desperate need of financial assistance. Muhammad Zohan’s father shares his distress, saying,
