Ubaid Ullah's Story

Ubaidullah, a 20-year-old resident of Karachi, has been enduring the distressing symptoms of off-and-on bleeding per rectum and a protruding lump from his back passage for the past year. Recently, Ubaidullah visited a local hospital, where he was diagnosed with hemorrhoids and advised to undergo a hemorrhoidectomy surgery for a lasting solution.

Ubaidullah, residing in a rented house in Karachi with his wife and two children, works as a laborer, earning a monthly income of PKR 15,000. However, with a portion of his income dedicated to house rent (PKR 2,000), utility bills (PKR 1,500), and a loan of PKR 150,000, he is unable to afford the expenses associated with the required surgery. He feels helpless and trapped in a financial crisis.

Expressing his concern, he shares, “Living with constant discomfort and bleeding has severely impacted my ability to provide for my family. The doctor has recommended surgery, which I desperately need, but my financial circumstances prevent me from moving forward. Ubaid Ullah's Story

Ubaidullah, a 20-year-old man from Karachi, was facing off and on bleeding per rectum and a protruding lump from his back passage. He received symptomatic treatment from a local doctor but got temporary relief only. After suffering for a while, he decided to consult a specialist, who after a thorough examination diagnosed him with Hemorrhoids, which are characterized by the formation of swollen veins in the lower part of the anus and rectum. To relieve his pain and discomfort, the doctor recommended Hemorrhoidectomy. However, Ubaidullah’s family was unable to afford the surgery. Due to Hemorrhoids, Ubaidullah faced discomfort and pain that significantly hindered his routine tasks. Ubaidullah works as a daily wage laborer and earns just PKR 15000 monthly. He lives in a modest rented house with his joint family of six members. The family’s financial situation was stretched thin and they were struggling to make ends meet. During this challenging time, Ubaidullah contacted Transparent Hands and asked us for help. We listened to his concerns and promptly registered his case. On 25th June 2024, Ubaidullah was admitted to Murshid Hospital in Karachi. The surgery took place on the same day. Dr. Attaullah skillfully performed his surgery and alleviated his pain and discomfort. Ubaidullah was hospitalized for three days and received post-operative care. After recovery, he was discharged in a stable condition on 27th June 2024. Ubaidullah said with tears of joy in his eyes: "When I was told I needed surgery, I felt hopeless. But your support came at the perfect time. The pain and discomfort which disturbed me the whole day and night have gone. Now, I’m recovered and looking forward to the future with new hope and courage.” Hemorrhoidectomy has significantly enhanced his quality of life and alleviated the symptoms related to hemorrhoids, including pain, bleeding, and inconvenience, allowing Ubaidullah to resume normal activities.
