Faryal Mastan, a 1-year-old girl from Faisalabad, has been struggling with hearing loss since early infancy. At just three months old, she developed a severe ear infection, which was treated at the time. Despite the treatment, Faryal has been unable to hear or respond to voices and sounds around her. It makes it difficult for her to interact with her surroundings and develop essential communication skills. Concerned about her condition, Faryal’s family took her to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. To help Faryal hear properly, the doctor prescribed a hearing aid. However, the family cannot afford the cost of the hearing aid. If Faryal does not receive the hearing aid soon, her condition may become even more difficult to manage. Delayed intervention will significantly affect her ability to develop speech and language skills.

Faryal lives with her parents in a modest home. Her father works as a driver and earns just PKR 30,000 per month. This income is insufficient to cover their household expenses, including utility bills and food expenses. Every day is a struggle for them to put food on the table and manage other living expenses. Due to their financial hardships, affording the cost of the hearing aid is not possible for them.

Faryal’s parents shared their plea as follows:

“Faryal cannot hear the sounds around her. We are worried beyond measure about her future, but we cannot afford the hearing aid. Please provide her with the hearing aid so she can hear and speak properly.”
