Play Your Part in Saving Umair’s Life with Heart Surgery
Muhammad Umair's Story
Muhammad Umair, a 5-year-old boy from Lahore, has been fighting for every breath since the day he was born. Other children of his age run and play without any challenges. However, Umair often struggles with shortness of breath and chest discomfort even during mild physical activity. Even routine activities leave him exhausted and uncomfortable. Deeply concerned about their son’s health, Umair’s family took him to a doctor. After a series of tests and examinations, doctors diagnosed him with Moderate Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) and Left Ventricular Volume Overload (LVVO), a serious heart condition that places extra strain on his heart and affects normal blood circulation. Doctors have recommended device closure for PDA to fix the defect and give Umair a healthier future. Unfortunately, the cost of this life-saving surgery is far beyond what his family can afford. Without timely treatment, Umair’s condition may continue to deteriorate. The constant strain on his heart may lead to worsening breathing difficulties, delayed growth, and potentially severe complications that may threaten his life. Early surgical intervention is essential to prevent further damage and allow him to have a normal childhood.
Umair lives in a modest house in Lahore with his parents and three siblings. His father is the sole breadwinner of the family and works as a laborer, earning approximately PKR 40,000 per month. This modest income supports a household of six people, covering food, utility bills, educational expenses, and other daily necessities. With monthly educational expenses of around PKR 7,000 and utility bills of approximately PKR 3,000, the family struggles to meet even their basic needs. Saving enough money for heart surgery is not possible for them.
Umair’s parents said in despair:
“Our son has spent his entire life with multiple struggles due to his heart condition. It breaks our hearts. We dream of seeing him healthy, but we can’t afford his treatment. Kindly save Umair’s life.”
Umair’s family is relying on your generosity. Your contribution can help provide this life-saving surgery and give him the opportunity to grow without limitations.
