Zeba Shahbaz's Story

Zeba Shahbaz, a 30-year-old woman from Lahore, is currently pregnant and expecting her fourth child. She is presently 11 weeks into her pregnancy. Zeba’s pregnancy requires special care because she has a history of three C-sections. Due to this medical history, attempting a normal delivery can be very dangerous for both the mother and the baby. Therefore, her doctor recommended a C-section to reduce potential risks and ensure that the childbirth process remains safe. However, the cost of the C-section is beyond her family’s means.

If Zeba does not undergo the required C-section, she and her baby may face serious complications, including:

• Uterine rupture
• Severe bleeding during delivery
• Serious risks to the baby’s health and safety

Zeba is a housewife and lives in a modest home with her husband and three children. Her husband works as a bike driver and earns around PKR 30,000 per month. His income is used to manage all household expenses, including food expenses, utility bills, and daily necessities. With such limited earnings, it has become extremely difficult for the family to arrange the money required for Zeba’s surgery. Zeba and her husband are deeply worried about arranging the necessary surgery needed for a safe delivery. With hope in their hearts, they reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help.

Zeba shared her concerns in these words:

“I am very worried about my delivery because the doctor has advised a C-section due to my previous surgeries. My husband tries his best to support the family, but arranging the cost of the operation is very difficult for us. I request you to support my C-section so I can safely deliver my baby.”
