Abdul Wakeel's Story

Abdul Wakeel, a 35-year-old resident of Upper Dir, Pakistan, is facing a critical health challenge that requires our urgent support. Abdul has been diagnosed with tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) and an additional ventricular septal defect (VSD). These conditions have manifested in symptoms such as shortness of breath, rapid breathing, and fainting. His doctors have advised open-heart surgery for total correction, which is essential for restoring his heart’s functionality.

Abdul, as a jobholder and a father of three children, earns a modest monthly income of 40,000 PKR. However, his current health condition has created numerous problems, making it challenging for him to fulfil his responsibilities and support his family. The burden of his medical expenses is overwhelming, and he finds himself in a desperate situation.

In his quest for a healthier life, Abdul has turned to Transparent Hands. With the support of donors, he was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital, where Dr. Asim successfully performed his surgery for median sternotomy, VSD closure, and RVOTO resection on February 8, 2024.

During his hospital stay, he received excellent care, with all medications, tests, and accommodation provided free of charge. After ten days, he was discharged from the hospital in a satisfactory condition, reflecting the successful outcome of his treatment.

The Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation and the compassionate donors came together and made this surgery possible. Their donations made it possible for Abdul Wakeel to get the treatment he needed. Abdul Wakeel and his family are extremely grateful to all the donors who selflessly donated to help him. Their kindness has made a huge difference in his life.
