Iqra Bibi Underwent Septoplasty Successfully
Iqra Bibi's Story
Iqra Bibi, a 27-year-old woman from Karachi, had been experiencing nasal blockage for four years and headaches for two years. She had recurrent episodes of rhinorrhea (runny nose). Her condition badly impacted her quality of life and it was difficult for her to breathe, sleep, and carry out her routine tasks. She consulted a doctor about her condition. After a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed her with Deviated Nasal Septum (DNS) and recommended Septoplasty – a surgical procedure to correct the deviated nasal septum. However, the cost of the surgery was overwhelming for Iqra’s family.
Iqra lives in a modest rented house with her husband and mother-in-law. Her husband works as a daily wager and earns PKR 25000 monthly. With this insufficient monthly income, they hardly cover the household bills and living expenses. However, Iqra desperately needed the surgery. Her health challenges were physically and emotionally draining her. In this dark moment, Iqra reached out to Transparent Hands. We listened to her concerns and registered her case.
On June 26, 2024, Iqra was admitted to Murshid Hospital, Karachi. An experienced surgeon, Dr. Mubashir performed her septoplasty. He successfully corrected the deviation in Iqra’s nasal septum.
Iqra was discharged from the hospital on June 27, 2024, just one day after the surgery. Iqra’s DNS symptoms were finally gone. She could breathe freely without the constant pain and discomfort that had become her daily reality. Iqra Bibi expressed her gratitude as follows:
“I never thought that I would ever get relief from this illness but you made it possible through your generous support. I am at a loss for words to describe my happiness. You changed my life.”
The successful surgery not only brought back the health of Iqra Bibi but also restored her hope for the future. It has empowered her to embrace a future with renewed energy and enthusiasm. We are incredibly grateful to you for making this life-altering surgery possible. Iqra can now spend her life without the limitations caused by her illness. You have given her the chance to live fully once again.
