Rani Muhammad Khalid's Story
Rani Muhammad, a 49-year-old resident of Karachi, had suffered four years of excruciating leg pain. Her life took a tragic turn in 2019 when a devastating road accident left her with a severely broken femur, rendering her unable to walk without enduring intense discomfort. Despite seeking medical attention at a local hospital, her suffering persisted, leaving her desperate for a solution. It was then that her doctor recommended she undergo Open Reduction and Internal Fixation (ORIF) surgery, which involved Screw Fixation and removal of the Intramedullary (IM) Nail. The surgery offered the hope of restoring her femur bone, relieving her pain, and enabling her to walk properly once more.
However, Rani faced a significant obstacle in the form of financial hardship. The cost of the necessary surgery seemed too much for her, leaving her feeling helpless. In her time of need, she reached out to Transparent Hands. With their support, she was able to register her case and was subsequently admitted to Murshid Hospital, Karachi.
Dr. Vikash Kumar skillfully operated, on 17-06-2023. The operation fixed Rani’s femur bone and also removed of IM Nail which alleviated her pain. After four days of post-operative care and recovery, she was discharged from the hospital. Dr. Kumar advised Rani to schedule a follow-up check-up after one week to monitor her progress.
The impact of the surgery on Rani’s health and overall well-being cannot be overstated. The successful procedure not only eliminated her debilitating pain but also restored her ability to walk without assistance.
Rani’s gratitude towards her generous donors is immeasurable. She recognizes that their kindness and support have been instrumental in her journey toward recovery and reclaiming her quality of life.
