Hanzala, a four-year-old from Lower Dir, has been living with sensorineural hearing loss since birth. His concerned parents brought him to a hospital for a medical examination, where the doctor recommended cochlear implant surgery. She was subsequently admitted to Ali Medical Centre in Islamabad and underwent surgery performed by Dr. Jawwad Ahmed on September 8th, 2022. During the operation, Dr. Ahmed successfully implanted the internal component of the cochlear implant.

Following a one-day stay in the hospital, Hanzala was discharged. The external component of the cochlear implant was then fixed a few weeks later.
