Maheen Fatima's Story

Four-year-old Maheen, a resident of Islamabad, had sensorineural hearing loss since birth. Her parents took her to the hospital for a check-up. The doctor advised her cochlear implant surgery. She was admitted to Capital Hospital, Islamabad, where Dr. Jawwad Ahmed performed her operation on 18-04-2022. The doctor fixed the internal component of the cochlear implant and the surgery was successful. She was discharged after five days of stay in the hospital. The external component of her cochlear implant was fixed after a few weeks. Now, she can respond to her parent’s voices.
