You Helped Muhammad Yousaf Walk Again

Muhammad Yousaf's Story

Muhammad Yousaf, a 65-year-old man from Lahore, was suffering from intense joint pain and discomfort. Yousaf injured his right hip joint in a road traffic accident and underwent surgery for it six months ago. He experienced persistent pain and inability to bear weight on his right leg. He went to a doctor, who conducted an x-ray and some medical tests and diagnosed Yousaf with a non-union fracture of the right hip. To restore his ability to walk, the doctor recommended a right total hip replacement with a long femoral stem. However, the surgical cost was beyond Yousaf’s financial capacity.

His condition stole his ability to work and provide for his family. He lives in a modest house with his six family members. His son, the sole breadwinner in the family, works as a salesman and earns just PKR 18000 per month. Doctors recommended surgery as the only way to heal the fracture, but the cost was far beyond their means. With no savings and no way to pay for the surgery, he felt helpless. During this time of need, Yousaf contacted Transparent Hands and asked us for help. We listened to his concerns and promptly registered his case. The generosity of donors enabled us to arrange surgery for Yousaf at one of our panel hospitals.

On 20th July 2024, Yousaf was admitted to Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Hospital in Multan. On 22nd July 2024, Dr. Muhammad Adeel performed a complex procedure to fix his non-union hip fracture. Yousaf was hospitalized for three days and received post-operative care. On 24th July, he recovered and was discharged in satisfactory condition.

Yousaf expressed his happiness as follows:
“I thought I would never heal, and I would be trapped in pain forever. But the support I received from you gave me my life back. I can now walk, work, and provide for my family again. I am so thankful to everyone who helped me.”

The surgery was successful, and after a period of recovery and rehabilitation, he finally began to regain mobility. The pain that once dominated his life started to ease, and he can once again walk without support.
Your generosity not only provided the surgery that healed his fracture but also restored his hope.
