You Helped Us Heal Sudais’s Heart with a Successful Surgery
Muhammad Sudais's Story
Muhammad Sudais, a 3-year-old boy from Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, spent the first years of his life battling with breathlessness and chest discomfort due to a heart disease. His parents lived in constant fear as they watched his lips and fingertips frequently turn blue due to a lack of oxygen in his blood. Even daily activities, such as walking around the house or playing with siblings, would leave Sudais exhausted and struggling to breathe. Determined to find a solution, his parents went to a local hospital where medical evaluations revealed that he was suffering from Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA) with Intact Ventricular Septum (IVS), a life-threatening congenital heart defect that prevents oxygen-rich blood from circulating properly throughout the body. Initially, Sudais underwent a Balloon Atrial Septostomy (BAS) procedure to inprove his blood circulation through heart. After this intervention, his symptoms improved and in follow up visits, upon reviewing his condition, the cardiac specialists advised open-heart surgery for total correction to save his life and improve his future.
Sudais lives with his parents, five siblings, and grandfather in a small home. His father works as a driver and earns only PKR 17,000 per month. With utility bills, food expenses, and the needs of a large household, the family struggled to meet even their basic necessities. Arranging money for a highly specialized cardiac surgery was completely beyond their means. Faced with this overwhelming challenge, the family turned to Transparent Hands for support and hope.
On May 12, 2026, Muhammad Sudais was admitted to the Ittefaq Hospital, Lahore. Depending on the condition, Dr. Asim Khan successfully performed the senning procedure on the same day. The procedure was completed successfully, and Sudais was closely monitored. After proper post-operative care, he was discharged in stable condition on May 16, 2026.
Sudais’s father shared his gratitude with heartfelt emotion as follows:
“Every day we feared losing our son. Watching him struggle for breath and seeing his tiny hands turn blue was heartbreaking. We knew he needed surgery, but we had no way to afford it. Today, because of your generosity, our son has been given a chance to live a healthier life. We can never thank you enough for standing with us during our most difficult time.”
Today, Sudais is recovering steadily and showing positive signs of improvement. His family looks forward to seeing him grow stronger, play with his siblings, and enjoy the childhood that his heart condition had taken away from him.
Your kindness and support made this life-saving surgery possible and brought hope back into the lives of an entire family.
His family is grateful to you and the PCHF for saving his life.
