You Stood by Nazish in Her Fight Against Breast Cancer

Nazish Ibrahim's Story

Nazish Ibrahim, a 32-year-old woman from Hyderabad, had been suffering from a growing lump in her left breast for eight months. Initially, Nazish hoped it was a minor issue and received symptomatic treatment for it. However, as weeks turned into months, the lump became larger and more painful. Finally, Nazish decided to consult a specialist. After conducting a biopsy and several lab tests, the doctor diagnosed her with left-sided breast cancer. To remove the cancerous tissue and stop the disease from spreading, her doctor recommended left-sided modified radical mastectomy. However, the cost of the surgery was beyond her family’s financial capacity.

Nazish’s family lives in a small house in Hyderabad. Her husband, a school teacher, is the sole breadwinner, earning only PKR 10,000 a month. This modest income is barely enough to cover the family’s basic needs, like food and utility bills. They faced immense financial hardships, and paying for Nazish’s surgery was challenging for them. During this difficult time, Nazish reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help. After listening to her concerns, we promptly registered her case.

On March 22, 2025, Nazish was admitted to Bait-ul-Sukoon Cancer Hospital in Karachi. Her surgery took place on 24th March, 2025. Dr. Syeda Sakina skillfully performed her left-sided modified radical mastectomy. After a few days of careful monitoring and recovery, Nazish was discharged in satisfactory condition on March 26, 2025.
