Safia Nasir's Story

Safia Nasir 32 years old lady was experiencing irregular genital tract bleeding for the last few months. Her EUA & biopsy revealed Squamous Cell Carcinoma (a type of cancer) of cervix. Further tests revealed inoperable tumor and she was advised to undergo chemotherapy sessions. But before the treatment started, she developed a sudden blockage of urine and was sent to the hospital where she was diagnosed to have Bilateral Hydronephrosis of kidneys. Her cystoscopy and DJ stenting was planned. Her procedure was done in National Hospital on 12-07-19 by Dr. Rafiq Zaki. He performed cystoscopy and Bilateral percutaneous nephrolithotomy (external drainage) as stenting was not possible. She recovered well after her procedure and received her 1st session of chemotherapy during her stay in hospital. She was discharged after remaining under observation for 22 days. Further, she was advised to take chemotherapy sessions to treat her advanced cervical cancer.
