Muhammad Kawish's Story

Muhammad Kawish, a 1-year-old baby boy from Sargodha, has been fighting with a severe health condition since birth. Kawish struggles with shortness of breath, chest discomfort, and bluish discoloration due to low oxygen levels. Even mild activity makes him breathless, leaving his parents deeply worried about his fragile health. After a thorough evaluation and some necessary investigations, Kawish was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). It is a Congenital Heart Disease that affects the normal flow of oxygen-rich blood in the body. This condition can make breathing difficult and may cause the child’s lips, hands, and feet to appear blue. To correct his heart condition and improve his oxygen levels, the doctor has advised Angiography followed by Open-Heart Surgery for Total Correction.

If Kawish does not receive the required surgery, his condition may continue to worsen and lead to:

  • Severe breathlessness and low oxygen levels
  • Difficulty in growth and physical development
  • Increased risk of heart failure

Kawish belongs to a financially struggling family of five. He has three siblings, and his father, Javed Iqbal, is the only earning member of the household. He works as a laborer and earns only PKR 20,000 per month. The family lives in a small one-room brick house in a rural area. Their modest income is spent on food, utility bills, and basic household needs. They are also burdened with a payable loan of PKR 50,000. The cost of Kawish’s surgery is far beyond his family’s financial reach. His father wants to save his son, but his income is not enough to cover such a major treatment.

Kawish’s father shared his pain in these words:

“I work hard as a laborer, but I am unable to afford my son’s heart surgery. Kindly give generously to save his life.”

Kawish needs your support to undergo Angiography and Open-Heart Surgery. Your donations can help correct his heart condition, improve his breathing, and give him the chance to grow like other children.

Muhammad Kawish's Story

Muhammad Kawish, a 1-year-old boy from Sargodha, had been living with a serious health condition since birth. He experienced shortness of breath, chest discomfort, and bluish discoloration caused by low oxygen levels. Even mild activity left him breathless, making it difficult for him to enjoy normal childhood activities and leaving his parents constantly concerned about his health. His parents took him to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After a detailed evaluation and the necessary investigations, the doctor diagnosed Kawish with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a congenital heart condition that affects the normal flow of blood through the heart and limits the amount of oxygen reaching the body. To correct the heart defect and improve Kawish’s oxygen levels, the doctor recommended angiography followed by open-heart surgery for Total Correction.

Kawish belongs to a financially struggling family of five and has three siblings. His father, Javed Iqbal, is the only earning member of the household and works as a labourer, earning approximately PKR 20,000 per month. The family lives in a small one-room brick house in a rural area. Their limited income is mainly spent on food, utility bills, and other basic household needs, leaving them unable to afford the expenses of Kawish’s cardiac surgery. His family contacted Transparent Hands for assistance, and after reviewing his medical condition and financial circumstances, his case was registered.

On August 2, 2026, Kawish was admitted to the Ittefaq Hospital in Lahore. On August 4, 2026, he underwent open-heart surgery for Total Correction, successfully performed by Dr. Asim Khan. Following the procedure, Kawish remained under close medical observation and received post-operative care. He was discharged in stable condition on August 8, 2026.

Kawish’s father expressed his gratitude as follows:

"We were very worried about our son because his heart condition made even basic activities difficult for him. Your support made it possible for Kawish to receive the treatment. We are truly thankful to you for helping our child and giving him a chance at a healthier life."

Today, Kawish is recovering steadily and gradually becoming more active as he regains his strength. His family looks forward to seeing him grow up with fewer limitations caused by his heart condition.

They are deeply grateful to you and the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation (PCHF) for making his surgery possible.
