Bakht Shaid Awaits Hernioplasty to Overcome Pain

Bakht Shaid's Story
Bakht Shaid, a 36-year-old man from Karachi, has been experiencing persistent pain and swelling in his left groin for the past two years. Over time, it has now grown into a constant, worsening burden that affects his ability to walk, stand, and carry out other activities. Worried about his condition, he went to a nearby hospital and consulted a doctor. After undergoing a thorough medical examination, Bakht was diagnosed with a Left Inguinal Hernia. It is a condition where an internal tissue protrudes through the abdominal wall, causing swelling and pain. The doctor has advised hernioplasty to treat the issue. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is overwhelming for Bakht.
If Bakht’s condition is left untreated, it may lead to serious complications like intestinal blockage or tissue strangulation. Moreover, his condition may worsen drastically, putting his health and ability to work at serious risk.
Bakht works with a company as a laborer and earns a monthly salary of PKR 36,000. His brother works with a private company. Both of them support a household of 13 family members, including Bakht’s six children, five of whom go to school. The family’s total income of PKR 60,000 is quickly consumed by their house rent (PKR 10,000), utility bills (PKR 3,000), and educational expenses (PKR 7,000). Despite working hard every day, they are unable to save enough to afford the cost of the surgery.
Bakht expressed his heartfelt plea as follows:
“I have been bearing this pain for so long. But it’s getting harder to work or even walk. This condition might take away my ability to support my children. Help me undergo this surgery and return to a normal life.”
Your kind support can relieve Bakht’s constant pain and restore his strength. Let’s stand together and help him receive the much-needed surgery.
Your generosity can make a lasting difference in the life of a hardworking father.
