Bushra Firyad's Story

Bushra Firyad is a 28 years old mother who is expecting her third baby. She has two sons. After the birth of her sons, she faced three miscarriages and was forced to think that she was never going to be pregnant again. This time, she fears her baby’s fate will end the same way as her previous pregnancies did. She fears for her baby’s life and needs elective surgery to give birth.

Bushra got married eight years ago. Her husband is a laborer and hardly earns 300-400 PKR per day. Their average monthly income is 14,000 PKR per month. They live in an inherited house in joint ownership with her in-laws. Her husband is responsible for his parents and siblings too. He fractured his arm in an accident and is unable to work actively to support the family.

Bushra is facing severe complications because of her pregnancy. She faced three miscarriages because she is a patient of anemia (blood and iron deficiency) and DVT disease (Deep Vein Thrombosis, a condition in which a blood clot is formed deep in the vein). In her current pregnancy, Bushra visited hospitals a number of times for checkup and pre-operative treatment because she started to face alarming symptoms including pain, fear, anxiety, insomnia (loss of sleep) and joint pain thrombosis (pain and swelling in joints).

She visited many hospitals and doctors for treatment but they could not provide her with the required medical care and the expenses were far too much for Bushra to afford.  Bushra got extremely hopeless and worried until she found out about Transparent Hands.
