For the last two years, Khalida Bibi has been suffering from severe abdominal pain. Along with the abdominal pain, she has been suffering from nausea and vomiting. At first, Khalida deemed it a minor food poisoning. However, when the pain persisted for weeks, she consulted a doctor. Upon thorough examination and investigations, the doctor diagnosed her with Cholelithiasis. Cholelithiasis involves the presence of gallstones, which are concretions that form in the biliary tract, usually in the gallbladder. 

To treat this condition, the doctor has advised her to undergo a Cholecystectomy. A Cholecystectomy is the surgical removal of the gallbladder. Cholecystectomy is a common treatment of symptomatic gallstones. 

Khalida’s husband is the sole earner of the family. He works as a rickshaw driver and hardly earns PKR 500 per day with an average of 13000 per month. They are living in a rented house and pay PKR 5000 per month. Moreover, he pays his rickshaw instalments as well. In these circumstances, he is in no position to arrange for his wife’s surgery.
