Mehnaz Gull's Story

Mehnaz Gull, 23 years old, is a mother of three beautiful children. Her husband works as a biker in Airlift Grocer. His monthly income is PKR 22,000. It is difficult for them, as a family, to make both ends meet in this time of inflation.

Mehnaz has now conceived for the fourth time. Since her previous three babies were delivered through C-section, her gynaecologist has advised a fourth C-section for her. This is a huge problem for Mehnaz and her husband as affording a medical procedure like this one is not possible for them. They sought financial help from their relatives the last three times as well.

This has become a great source of worry for Mehnaz. She fears that her unborn child’s life might be in danger. They have visited multiple local hospitals in hopes of getting free treatment but were not facilitated. A private hospital’s fee is completely out of their budget so they are not even thinking about that option.

“I have constant anxiety from thinking about our finances. There is hardly any money left at the end of the month. We simply cannot afford a C-section. We have already borrowed money from various family members. I can only pray that God takes us out of this difficult time soon.”- says Mehnaz
