Neelam Iqbal's Story

“I’m very worried for my unborn child and wife these days. I don’t know where to get help from. All I want for my wife is to give birth to our child safely without facing any serious health complications.”- Neelam’s husband.

Neelam Bibi is a 29 years old homemaker who is living with her husband and 4 children in Sahiwal district. She is a very simple woman who wishes nothing but to live a peaceful life with her family.

Neelam Bibi is blessed again by motherhood and now she is pregnant for the 5^th time. She needs a C section operation urgently. Having a normal delivery is impossible for her at present because it will only increase the risks of rupture of the uterus during labor, resulting in Hysterectomy for the mother and neurological complications for the baby.

Previously, all her children were delivered through c-section in a local hospital as normal delivery was not safe for her health.

Her husband is a painter and struggles to earn around 9000-10000 PKR per month. All her children are studying in school except her youngest daughter. They are also paying debts back to their relatives and friends for the money they had borrowed for her previous c-sections. They went to many hospitals for free treatment but no one was willing to help them. In these circumstances, her husband is even unable to pay for her medicines let alone manage the high cost of the operation.
