Noor Khan's Story

“I’m very worried about my husband’s health. I cannot explain the grief and hardships that we are facing due to his heart disease. All my life, I have been dependent on him and now when he needs treatment, we do not have the money to pay for it. I’m scared about our future. I don’t know how we are going to manage everything without him.”- said Noor Khan’s wife

Noor Khan is a 44 years old man who is very fond of his family and wants nothing but to live a peaceful life with his loved ones with ease and comfort. He was suffering from Rheumatic Heart Disease for a very long time but couldn’t access good treatment because he lives in a backward area of Waziristan Agency near the Afghanistan border.

He experienced severe chest pain about 2 weeks ago and went to a local hospital for help but they referred him to another hospital in Lahore for better treatment.

He was admitted and his Echocardiography was done. Doctors then advised him to undergo Coronary Angiography after which his Mitral Valve Replacement (Open Heart Surgery) was to be scheduled but unfortunately, this man doesn’t have money to pay for his medical tests, let alone surgical procedure.

Noor Khan is a driver but he cannot work now due to chest pain, palpitations and swollen foot. He becomes exhausted and tired after doing even the mildest physical activities.

His wife and 7 children are going through a tough financial struggle because they do not have any source of income now. It is has become impossible for them to manage their household expenses and are living miserably.

Noor Khan is the head of his family whose life is too precious not only for himself but also for his loved ones. Without him, his wife and children would have no future.
