Shahnaz Bibi's Story

Shahnaz Bibi is a 27 years old beautiful woman who lives in a rural area of Mian Channu with her 2 kids. Her husband left her around 4 years ago and since then she is struggling to take care of her one son and one daughter. Shahnaz lives in her parents’ home and stitches clothes to make both ends meet. She hardly earns around 3,000 rupees a month with which she manages to pay for her day to day expenses. Shahnaz’s mother also works as a maid in a few homes and earns a little money.

About one year ago, Shahnaz felt severe abdominal pain. She went to a doctor who gave her medicines for relief.  After some time, her pain started again along with vomiting. She went to another doctor who suggested her to undergo surgery as she was diagnosed with gallstones. Shahnaz didn’t have enough money to pay for the surgical expenses herself. She went to many local hospitals for free of cost surgical treatment but nobody paid attention to her. Shahnaz is not working for 4 months because of her deteriorating health. Along with pain and vomiting, she often loses her senses.

After the surgery, her condition will be improved and she’ll continue to work like before.
