Meet Tehzeeb Jahanzaib, a 4-year-old girl from Hyderabad, Sindh, who has been facing increasing discomfort for the past six months. The pain in her right lumbar region is often accompanied by nausea and vomiting, leaving her restless and distressed. Worried for their child, her parents consulted a nearby doctor, who advised laboratory tests and an ultrasound. After reviewing the investigation reports, the doctor diagnosed a right-sided renal stone, a hard mineral deposit that forms in the kidney and can trigger severe flank pain, nausea, and vomiting when it obstructs or irritates the urinary tract. To remove the stone and ease her suffering, the doctor has recommended right-sided mini percutaneous nephrolithotomy (Mini PCNL). Sadly, the cost of this surgery is far beyond what her family can afford on a single modest wage. Without timely surgery, Tehzeeb may continue to face repeated episodes of right-sided pain with nausea and vomiting. Completing the planned treatment is important to relieve her suffering and help protect her young kidney from further strain, infection, or blockage that untreated stones can cause over time.

Tehzeeb is one of four children in a family of six who share one modest home. Her father works as a daily-wage laborer and earns about PKR 18,000 a month with great difficulty, which is the household’s only income for every basic need. All four children study in government schools. The family lives in a one-room mud house. After covering food and other daily essentials for so many dependents on this one wage, nothing remains for Tehzeeb’s much-needed kidney stone surgery. With such limited financial resources, her parents cannot manage the expenses of her much-needed treatment.

Tehzeeb’s father shared his plea as follows:

“My little girl has been in pain for months, and watching her suffer breaks my heart every day. We have done everything we can as parents, but we still cannot give her the surgery she needs. Kindly help my daughter receive this life-changing treatment so she can grow up without this fear and smile again.”
