Shamim Akhtar, 46 years of age, has been suffering from lower abdominal pain for the last three and a half years. She visited different hospitals and was diagnosed with Uterine Fibroids. Doctors have advised surgery as permanent cure.

From last one year, her condition has become serious. She is experiencing increased menstrual bleeding, causing her to become anemic. Her immense weakness has made it impossible for her to carry out household chores.

Shamim has 2 daughters and 1 son. She is the second wife of her husband, who already has 4 children from his first wife. Her husband works at a sanitary store with a monthly salary of 15,000 PKR. They live in a small house and life is very tough for them with such meagre income. It is impossible for them to afford the expenses of Shamim’s surgery.

Luckily, they got to know about Transparent Hands and appealed for free surgical procedure. The organization has taken up Shamim’s case.

Shamim Akhtar's Story

Shamim Akhter 46 years old lady was suffering from lower abdominal pain and heavy menstrual bleeding for many years. She was diagnosed to have uterine fibroids and was advised hysterectomy for relief. Her surgery was done in Abid Hospital, Mian Channu on 18-06-19 by Dr. Niaz Ahmed. Her uterus was removed and she stayed in hospital for 3 days after surgery. She had good post-operative recovery and was discharged in perfect condition.
