Asia Bibi's Story

Asia Bibi, 11 years old, has developed chronic tonsillitis that causes constant pain in her throat along with frequent fever since the last two weeks. Every few days, these symptoms resurface, and the pain becomes unbearable. Asia’s father took her to the hospital where she was diagnosed with tonsillitis.

In order to get rid of the problem for good, Asia requires a tonsillectomy surgery to remove the tonsils. Recently, she put in a request to Transparent Hands for help with this surgery, as her family cannot afford the surgery on their own.

“My family has been financially struggling for as long as I can remember. We hardly have enough money to buy food so getting my surgery is beyond impossible. I don’t want to add to the stress my father already faces because of our financial situation.” 

Asia’s father works as a daily wager and earns around PKR 400 daily. All of the financial burdens of his family, which includes his wife and 5 children and his aged mother, is on him which is why it is next to impossible for him to manage the cost of her daughter’s surgery. Their financial situation is bad to the extent where they can’t even afford rent and currently reside with a relative. Shafiq Alam, Asia’s father found out about Transparent Hands through a friend who suggested he contacted them for help.

Asia Bibi’s case has been approved and we are now collecting donations for her surgery. We would like to request you to please contribute to the costs and give her a chance to enjoy her life in good health.
