Fiaz Ahmad's Story

Fiaz Ahmad, aged 37 years, was on his way to the market and something hit his left eye. He could not figure out what it was but he immediately washed his eyes. Since then, his vision started deteriorating. He consulted a doctor in a local hospital. After a detailed examination, he was diagnosed with a complicated cataract after Fuchs Uveitis Syndrome (FUS) in his left eye. These conditions are caused by inflammation in the eyes. The doctor advised an intraocular lens implantation (IOL) for him after the removal of the cataract.

Fiaz got very distressed after being advised a surgery. This is because he used to work as a driver but lost his job because of loss of vision. He is completely dependent on financial support from his family. In these circumstances, arranging money for surgery seemed impossible. However, his old employer told him about Transparent Hands and asked him to talk to our patient coordinator. Fiaz contacted our team and immediately got himself registered.
