Kausar Parvin's Story
Kausar Parvin, age 43 years, has been experiencing abnormal vaginal bleeding for the past 8 months. After a visit to her doctor, she found out that she has uterine fibroids, a condition in which benign tumors develop in the uterus. In most cases, this condition is free from serious symptoms but sometimes, as is in Kausar’s case, it can cause constant bleeding and pain. Despite taking medicines for relief, the bleeding has worsened over the past month or so, leaving her weak and anemic. The permanent solution is a Hysterectomy- a surgical procedure in which the uterus is removed.
“I have lost so much blood in the last few weeks that I have gone quite pale. I was on the verge of fainting a couple of times. Thankfully, my son was there to help me to my bed or I might have fallen and injured myself. I cannot leave the house to go anywhere but visit the doctor because I need to change multiple times during the day to contain the bleeding.”
With three children to support, the expenses of the procedure cannot be paid for by the family. Kausar’s husband works at a restaurant and manages to earn close to 20,000 PKR a month that gets spent towards household expenses and their children’s school fees. Their eldest son works at a bakery but does not earn a salary. The younger two sons study in middle school. A very small dwelling has been lent to the family by Kausar’s parents-in-law.
Kausar has requested Transparent Hands to help conduct her surgery so she can get her life back to normal.

Kausar Parvin's Story
Kausar Parvin, 43 years old, had heavy menstrual bleeding and lower abdominal pain for many years. She was diagnosed to have a fibroid uterus and a hysterectomy was advised. Her surgery was finally done at Abid Hospital, Mian Channu, on 11-01-20, by Dr Sadaf Aqeel. She had good post-operative recovery and was discharged in good health after 3 days of hospital stay.
