Maria Ramish's Story

Maria Ramish, 21 years old, is expecting her second baby and is 27 weeks along. Due to complications during her first pregnancy, her previous childbirth was through a C-section, which was carried out at a local hospital. This time around, her delivery has to be through a C-section again but she and her husband have been unable to come up with the resources for it.

“On the one hand, I am overjoyed that I have another child on the way. On the other, I am really worried that I wouldn’t be able to arrange for the operation in time. My husband and I get more and more stressed as the delivery date draws nearer.” – Maria

Maria lives with her husband, Ramish Javaid, and daughter in a small house in Lahore. Ramish is a janitor who earns 19,000 PKR a month to support his wife and daughter. In the expensive city of Lahore, that amount proves insufficient during most months.

Maria Ramish, 24 years old, was pregnant for the 3rd time. She had her previous deliveries through C-sections. She was advised elective surgery for the wellbeing of her baby. Her C- section was done on 13-05-20, in Noor Medicare Hospital, by Dr. Munazza Malik. She was happy to give birth to a baby girl. She stayed for two days in the hospital and was discharged along with her healthy baby.
