Rahmat Ullah's Story

“His lips turned blue when he cried for the first time after his birth and soon he started feeling difficulty in breathing. We thought maybe he is suffering from any infection but our world came crashing down when the doctor examined him and informed us about his critical heart condition. My son has miraculously survived 3 years on medications but now, his heart is giving up with each passing minute. We can’t lose our beloved son but we don’t know how to arrange money for his surgery. 3 years old Rahmat Ullah is suffering from congenital heart disease (Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) – a cardiac abnormality that refers to a combination of four related heart defects that commonly occur together and Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) – opening between the aorta and the pulmonary artery. Due to his heart condition, he is not growing like kids of his age and he is severely underweight.

Rahmat Ullah is a 3 years old kid who should be enjoying his carefree life to the fullest but he has forgotten how to even smile. These days, he cries all the time due to pain in his chest. He gets irritated at little things and his parents are trying everything they can to make their son happy.

The doctor has recommended Open Heart Surgery (TOF repair) as soon as possible. Without timely treatment, Rahmat Ullah may lose his life. His father is a daily wage laborer and earns a little income every day. Even if he saves for a year, he won’t be able to fund his child’s treatment. Luckily, he came across an old patient of Transparent Hands and now Rahmat Ullah is scheduled for his surgery soon. But his struggles don’t end here.
