Sattan Bibi's Story
Sattan Bibi, 55 years old, has been suffering from pain in her right hypochondriac area along with vomiting and abdominal stretch for the last one year. She has been diagnosed with cholelithiasis (gallstones) and doctors have advised her surgery to remove the gallbladder for permanent relief. She visited a few doctors for free surgery but her request wasn’t accommodated. Delayed treatment has now caused her symptoms to worsen over the past few months.
“I persevered in my condition for over a year. But lately, I have been in so much pain that I feel nauseous all the time. I feel scared to stand and move around for fear of making it worse.” – Sattan Bibi
Sattan Bibi has one son and two daughters. Her husband cultivates land for a landlord in their village and gets about 12,000 PKR every month. Her elder son earns 4000 PKR/month assisting his father in the fields. This brings the family’s income to an average of 16,000 PKR per month, and they survive with great difficulty each month on this meager amount. Unable to fund the surgery herself due to a shortage of resources, Sattan Bibi has contacted Transparent Hands for her surgery.
Sattan Bibi hopes that since she cannot pay for her surgery, your donations can step in and relieve her of her pain. If you wish to help, simply click Donate Now to send a contribution of your choice.
