Muhammad Abid's Story

Muhammad Abid, a 2-year-old resident of Charsadda, was born without the ability to hear. His parents noticed this and took him to the hospital for a consultation when he was just a year old. After a comprehensive evaluation and diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed him with sensorineural hearing loss.

The doctor recommended that he undergo cochlear implant surgery as a solution to overcome this condition. With the help of a cochlear implant, Abid will have the opportunity to hear and experience sounds for the first time. The cochlear implant consists of two components: one is surgically implanted in the ear, and the external component is installed a few weeks after the surgery.

However, Abid’s family is facing a significant obstacle in their pursuit of a better future for him. Abid’s family lives in a large joint family in a modest house, and their monthly income is just PKR 50,000.
