Enable Aisha Batool to Hear for the First Time
Aisha Batool's Story
Aisha Batool, a one-year-old girl from Larkana, has been living in a world of silence since birth. Aisha is unable to experience the joy of hearing her loved ones’ voices. Her parents noticed her unresponsiveness to sounds when she couldn’t react to loud noises as a baby. They took her to a nearby hospital and received a medical consultation. The doctor conducted some medical tests and diagnosed Aisha with congenital sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL). It became clear that she couldn’t hear at all. To give Aisha a chance to hear and speak, the doctor advised cochlear implant surgery. However, the significant cost of the surgery is overwhelming for Aisha’s family.
If Aisha Batool doesn’t undergo the surgery on time, she might not be able to develop the ability to hear and speak. The earlier Aisha receives the cochlear implant, the better her chances of developing the language skills that are so important at her age.
Aisha lives in a small brick house with her parents and one sibling. Her father, the sole breadwinner in the family, works as a clerk at a bank and earns PKR 46000 per month. With this monthly income, he barely covers utility bills amounting to PKR 10,000 monthly, as well as the cost of groceries. To make matters worse, they are burdened with a loan of PKR 200,000. During this time of need, Aisha’s family reached out to Transparent Hands and asked us for assistance.
Aisha’s parents expressed their plea as follows:
“We long for the day when she can hear us, but we know that without this necessary surgery, that day may never come. It’s heartbreaking to see our little Aisha in this unfortunate condition. We request you to please help our daughter in undergoing the surgery.”
This surgery will allow Aisha to live a full and normal life, go to school, make friends, and chase her dreams. We request you to kindly donate to her cochlear implant surgery that will make a meaningful impact on her life.
