Azan Ali's Story

Azan Ali, a 5-year-old boy from Kasur, has been experiencing breathlessness, chest discomfort, and cyanosis since birth. He has become underweight and looks weak. His parents consulted a doctor who diagnosed him with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). It is a condition in which four heart abnormalities are present in a person since birth. Azan’s life has been significantly affected by his congenital cardiac defect. He faces loss of appetite, becomes tired easily, and cannot focus on his studies. The doctor has advised open-heart surgery for total correction as the solution for his congenital heart defects.

Azan’s life will remain at risk if he doesn’t get the recommended treatment. Azan’s parents desperately want his son to undergo this life-saving heart surgery. Unfortunately, the cost of the heart surgery is beyond their financial means. Azan lives in a modest two-room mud house along with seven family members. His father is the only breadwinner in the family and works as a daily wage laborer. He brings in just PKR 15,000 monthly and hardly manages to cover the daily living expenses, utility bills, and groceries.

Azan’s parents said in despair:

“We feel helpless and disappointed when we see our son struggling to survive in life. We want him to grow up like other children of his age. Due to our limited sources of income, we can’t afford the life-saving surgery for Azan. We need your support to save our son’s life. Please help us and give our son a second chance at life.”

Azan’s family contacted Transparent Hands and asked for help. We have registered his case and need our donors’ support to give Azan a healthy life.

At this young age, a child is supposed to enjoy his childhood and participate in physical activities like playing sports with friends. However, Azan can’t enjoy the perks of his childhood due to the limitations caused by his congenital heart defects.

With your support, Azan Ali will be able to enjoy his life, gain a healthy weight, and focus on his studies. Your contributions will make a profound difference in his life. Donate now and save Azan’s life.

Azan Ali's Story

Azan Ali, a 5-year-old boy from Kasur, Punjab, had been struggling with breathlessness, chest discomfort, and cyanosis since birth. These symptoms, coupled with his low weight and frail appearance, were a constant source of worry for his family. Deeply concerned about his condition, his parents consulted a doctor. After a thorough examination, Azan was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) - a congenital heart defect involving four abnormalities in the heart’s structure. The doctor recommended open-heart surgery to correct these issues. Unfortunately, the surgical cost was overwhelming for Azan’s family.

Azan’s family lived in a small two-room mud house with seven members. His father, a daily wage laborer earning just PKR 15,000 per month, struggles to provide for the family’s basic needs. Affording the high cost of Azan’s surgery seemed like an impossible task. Desperate to save their son, Azan’s parents turned to Transparent Hands for support. After hearing their heartfelt plea, we registered Azan’s case and assured his family that we would arrange the surgery Azan needed.

On December 11, 2024, Azan was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital in Lahore. The skilled cardiac surgeon, Dr. Asim Khan, performed his open-heart surgery on December 13, 2024. During the procedure, the structural defects in Azan’s heart were repaired, allowing his heart to function properly. Azan remained under observation in the hospital for four days and was discharged in stable condition on December 17, 2024.

Azan’s parents were overwhelmed with gratitude and shared:

“Our son’s life has been changed. Watching him struggle every day was heartbreaking, but now he can breathe easily and move around without difficulty. We are deeply thankful to everyone who supported us.”

Azan is now healing, enjoying a life that allows him to play and grow like other children. His family extends their heartfelt thanks to you and the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation for giving their son a healthy and happy future. Together, you’ve truly made a difference in Azan’s life.
