Four-year-old Kashaf Fatima, a resident of Vehari, was born without the ability to hear. When she was a year old, her parents realized something was wrong and took her to the doctor for advice. After a series of tests, the doctor concluded that she had sensorineural hearing loss. The doctor has advised her to undergo cochlear implant surgery to enable her to hear. She would be able to hear and explore the world of sound with this device. The cochlear implant has two components. One is surgically implanted close to the ear, and the external component is installed a few weeks after the surgery.

Her father’s modest income from his private job is barely enough to meet the family’s everyday expenses, leaving no room to afford the high cost of the surgery.
