Noor Hassan's Story

Noor Hassan, a 68-year-old man from Mardan, has been suffering from right knee pain for many years. Simple activities like standing, walking around the home, and carrying out his routine tasks have become significantly challenging for him and he needs support to perform these activities. Concerned about his condition, he went to a nearby hospital to consult a doctor, who performed an X-ray and some lab tests. Noor was diagnosed with right knee osteoarthritis – a condition in which a cartilage lining the joint wears down, causing the bones to rub against each other. To restore his ability to walk, the doctor advised Total Knee Replacement Surgery. However, the cost of the surgery is beyond his financial reach.

Noor Hassan misses the time when he could walk without any support. Now his condition has made him dependent on others, affecting him emotionally and psychologically. If Noor doesn’t get the surgery soon, he may face permanent loss of movement at the knee joint. He might not be able to stand, sit, and walk.

Noor lives in a small mud house with his five family members. Noor’s knee condition stole his ability to provide for his family. His son is a daily wage laborer and brings in just PKR 20,000 per month. With this meager monthly income, they hardly manage to pay for utility bills of PKR 3000 and other living expenses. Moreover, they are burdened with a staggering loan of PKR 100,000. Noor’s family is surviving in extreme poverty and the significant cost of the surgery is simply out of their reach. During this challenging time, Noor contacted Transparent Hands and asked us for help.

Noor Hassan said in despair:

“This pain affects my daily life, leaving me exhausted and struggling to keep up with simple tasks. I wish to get relief and a chance to live without constant worry. I need your support to regain my strength. Please help me during this difficult time.”

With your generous support, Noor can receive the much-needed knee replacement surgery. After surgery, he dreams of returning to work, supporting his family, and carrying out his daily chores independently.

A small contribution from you can help Noor stand on his feet once again and live a life of dignity. Your kindness can change his life. Consider donating today to give Noor a pain-free life.

Noor Hassan's Story

Noor Hassan, a 68-year-old man from Mardan, had been suffering from persistent right knee pain for many years. Even basic activities like standing, walking within his home, or performing daily tasks became a significant challenge for Noor. To navigate through life, he often relied on support from others. Deeply worried about his condition, Noor visited a nearby hospital, where the doctor conducted an X-ray and some lab tests. The results revealed he had right knee osteoarthritis. To restore his mobility and alleviate his suffering, the doctor recommended total knee replacement surgery. Unfortunately, the cost of the procedure was beyond Noor’s financial means.

Noor lived in a small mud house with his five family members. Due to intense knee pain and discomfort, Noor was unable to work and provide for his family. His son, the sole breadwinner in the family, worked as a daily wage laborer and made just PKR 20,000 per month. This income was insignificant to even cover their utility bills and food expenses. Living in such extreme poverty, Noor’s family could not afford the life-changing surgery. During this time of need, Noor reached out to Transparent Hands for assistance. After verifying his condition and circumstances, Transparent Hands registered his case.

On January 06, 2024, Noor was admitted to Zia Darman Hospital in Mardan. His surgery took place on the same day. Dr. Aimen Zia successfully performed his right knee replacement surgery. After receiving post-operative care, Noor was discharged in stable condition on January 08, 2025.

Noor’s surgery has given him a fresh start. After years of bearing constant pain and immobility, he is now recovering and regaining his independence. Grateful for the support, Noor shared his emotions as follows:

"I never imagined I’d be able to walk without pain again. Your generosity enabled me to stand on my feet and regain my independence. I am deeply grateful for your generous support which brought hope and relief back into my life."

Noor’s family is overjoyed to see him healing and resuming his life without pain. The successful surgery has not only changed Noor’s life but also brought new hope and happiness to his family. They extend their deepest gratitude to you for making a significant difference in Noor’s life.
