Four-year-old Muhammad Ahmed, a resident of Swat, has been suffering from congenital sensorineural hearing loss since birth. His parents noticed that he wasn’t responding to their voices, and after several tests, Ahmed was diagnosed with sensorineural deafness. However, there is hope for Ahmed. The doctor advised him to undergo cochlear implant surgery, a groundbreaking procedure that has the power to transform his life. The gift of sound is priceless, and we can give it to Ahmed through cochlear implant surgery.
Ahmed lives in a small house with his parents and two siblings. His father is the sole earner in the family and earns PKR 15,000 per month. With this limited income, he cannot pay for the costly surgery. He said it in despair.

Three-year-old Muhammad Ahmed from Swat encountered a silent world due to congenital sensorineural hearing loss. His parents noticed his unresponsiveness to sounds at just one year old. Medical consultations confirmed sensorineural deafness, urging the necessity of cochlear implant surgery.
Without this treatment, Muhammad Ahmed faced hurdles in communication and learning, depriving him of the simple joy of hearing the world around him. Financial constraints posed an insurmountable obstacle. His family sought assistance through Transparent Hands. Generous donations made his hearing restoration journey possible.
Admitted to Ali Medical Complex, Islamabad, Dr. Jawwad adeptly conducted the cochlear implant surgery on 28 August 2023. The precision in implanting the internal component marked a pivotal step towards Muhammad Ahmed's hearing recovery. His discharge followed after a day's stay.
His progression towards complete hearing recovery commenced post the external component's implantation, a few weeks later. Speech therapy sessions aided his transformative journey, allowing him to perceive and process sounds.
Guided by a dedicated speech therapist, Muhammad Ahmed received continuous support, nurturing his language and communication skills. Equipped with the implant, he now engages actively in conversations and joyously participates in social gatherings.
