Help Azra walk Again 

Azra Kousar's Story

Azra has not been able to walk properly for the last 15 years. She doesn’t want to be a burden on her family anymore. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Azra’s hip replacement surgery. Your donations will help Azra walk again. 

Azra Kousar, a 43-year-old resident of Muzaffargarh, was suffering from pain in her hip joints for the last 15 years. She has been unable to walk properly since then. Six months ago, her condition worsened and she was bound to her wheelchair. Then she went to a hospital for her checkup and the doctor diagnosed her with bilateral avascular necrosis (AVN) of femoral heads, which is the death of bone tissue accompanied by loss of blood supply.

Now, the only option to treat this defect is total hip replacement surgery. It is a surgery to replace the damaged hip joint. During the process, the surgeon replaces the old joint with an artificial joint (prosthesis). She was advised to undergo right uncemented THR. 

Unfortunately, Azra Kousar is unable to afford the hefty cost of this surgery. Azra kousar’s husband merely earns PKR 25,000 per month, which is hardly enough to make ends meet. She told us:

“My family has been suffering because of me for 15 years. I feel like I am a burden on them sitting in my wheelchair helplessly. I hope Transparent Hands will help me walk again.”
