Balqees Bano's Story

Balqees struggles to carry out even the most basic of chores and it really breaks her heart. Balqees Bano, a 52-year-old resident of Dera Ghazi Khan, has been praying for a donor like you to get back on her feet. She has been enduring knee joint pain for the last few months. She was given symptomatic treatment, but it never worked for her and her condition only worsened. Donate and Help Balqees walk again.

Upon consulting an Orthopedician and after going through a number of diagnostic tests, she was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis (OA) of the knees. Knee OA is the result of articular cartilage degeneration without any known reason. This is typically thought of as degeneration due to age as well as wear and tear. After the diagnosis, Balqees was advised to undergo a Total Knee Replacement surgery for both of her knees. Total Knee Replacement surgery (TKR) is a complex procedure in which effective joint surfaces are replaced with artificial joints. She shared his distress with us:

“I am a housewife with many responsibilities. I can’t sit idle, but this pain stands in the way of so many things I need to do. Even standing up is a painful experience for me. We cannot afford the cost of my procedure with my husband’s meager income. Transparent Hands is my only hope.” – Balqees

Balqees’s husband works as a rickshaw driver and earns just enough to feed his family. With these financial constraints, it is next to impossible for him to afford this costly procedure.

After a lot of distress and with the help of her doctor, Balqees has registered her case with Transparent Hands. We are determined to put her on the path to good health as soon as we can. But, it won’t be possible without your help. Your support can get Balqees back on her feet. We request you to donate generously and help Balqees walk again.
