Muhammad Hami's Story

Muhammad Hami is a delightful child whose entire life can be transformed through cochlear implant surgery. Without this vital procedure, he would face significant challenges in learning and communication, missing out on the wonderful experiences of hearing the world around him. Your compassionate contributions hold the power to grant him the precious gift of sound, allowing him to embrace the joy of learning and connecting with others. His loved ones have been deeply saddened by his silence, and now they earnestly appeal to you to generously donate and help Muhammad Hami discover the beautiful sounds of the world.

Three-year-old Muhammad Hami, a resident of Kasur, has congenital sensorineural hearing loss. When he was one year old, his parents realized something was wrong since he wasn’t reacting to their voices. His parents drove him to the nearest hospital, where he underwent testing. He was diagnosed with sensorineural deafness after a consultation. He was advised by the doctor to have cochlear implant surgery. A cochlear implant is a tiny electronic device that stimulates the cochlear nerve (the nerve that allows you to hear). The implant contains both exterior and internal components. The exterior portion is attached behind the ear. It processes the sounds using a microphone before sending them into the ear.

He lives in a rented house with his parents. His father’s income is around PKR 40,000 per month, which is not enough to cover the expenses of costly surgery. His father said in a depressed tone:

“I worry deeply about my beloved child because I haven’t been able to gather enough money for his cochlear implant operation. Your donation right now can change his life forever. Please consider making a donation and giving him the gift of hearing. Your kindness can light up his world with the sounds he’s been longing to hear.”

Someone told his parents about Transparent Hands and the causes we champion, and they reached out to us for help. Now, all that is required of you is a small donation so that we can provide him with a cochlear implant. We request that you donate to his surgery and allow him to live his life to the fullest.

Muhammad Hami's Story

Muhammad Hami, a 3-year-old boy from Kasur, was unable to hear since birth. He couldn’t even communicate about his basic needs. At his age, when most children begin to explore the world of sounds, Hami was confined in his world of silence. His parents learned about his condition when he was one year old. They took him to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After running some medical tests, the doctor diagnosed Hami with congenital sensorineural hearing loss and recommended cochlear implant surgery. Unfortunately, the surgical cost was out of his family’s financial capacity.

Hami lived in a modest rented house with his parents. His father's income was just PKR 40,000 per month, which was inadequate to cover their expenses. His parents longed to see him communicate with his family and friends like other children. However, their financial constraints made it impossible for them to afford the much-needed surgery. During this time of despair, a day came when a well-wisher told them about Transparent Hands. Muhammad Hami’s parents swiftly contacted Transparent Hands and asked for assistance. After listening to his concerns, we registered his case.

On January 6, 2025, Hami was admitted to the National Hospital in Lahore. Dr. Asim Iqbal performed the surgery and carefully inserted the internal component of the cochlear implant. Hami received post-operative care and was discharged in satisfactory condition on January 7, 2025.

After six weeks, the external component of the cochlear implant will be installed and Hami will start receiving speech therapy sessions. These steps are essential for completing the treatment and fully enabling him to speak and hear clearly.

Hami’s parents said with happiness:

“We can’t believe our son has successfully undergone surgery. We were anxious about his future, but the results after his surgery have exceeded our expectations. We are immensely grateful for the support and care we received. Thanks for your help.”

The cochlear implant surgery was expensive but your support enabled us to extend support to Hami. Your contributions have opened the door to the world of sounds for him. You made a great impact on Hami’s life.
