8 years old Sajjawal Imran had been complaining about pain in his eyes for a long time. Along with pain, he suffered from short-sightedness. At first, her mother did not pay much attention to it. Later, when the pain did not subside, she took him to a hospital. The doctor diagnosed Sajjawal with a bilateral developmental Cataract. A Cataract is an opacification of the lens of the eye, which leads to a decrease in vision. Usually, this condition is found in people who have grown weary with age. Sajjawal Imran is a rather unfortunate 10 years old to go through that. To help Sajjawal Imran see clearly, the doctor has advised him to undergo a Phaco & IOL surgery on the right eye as soon as possible. Phacoemulsification is a method of cataract surgery in which the defected lens is replaced with an artificial lens.

Unfortunately, Sajjawal’s father passed away 3 years ago. His grief-stricken mother is unable to work. Therefore, the household expenses and responsibility befalls the meek shoulders of Sajjawal Imran’s grandmother. She works as a house help and hardly earns PKR 12000 per month.
