Ujala Zakir's Story

In the serene village of Munda, Lower Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resides a bright and curious three-year-old girl named Ujala Zakir. Ujala’s laughter fills her humble home, but one thing is missing: the ability to hear. Ujala was born with a hearing impairment, leaving her unable to experience the beautiful symphony of sounds that surround us. Concerned about their daughter’s future, Ujala’s parents, burdened by their financial limitations, are unable to afford the life-changing surgery she desperately needs.

Ujala lives with her parents in a small house. Her father is the sole earner in the family. He earns PKR 15,000 monthly as a daily wager. With the weight of a 500,000 PKR loan and monthly utility bills of 4,000 PKR, struggles to make ends meet. The soaring inflation further compounds their financial challenges, making it nearly impossible to gather the funds required for his daughter’s costly surgical procedure.

He said in despair:

“In the face of our struggles and the overwhelming cost of surgery, we find ourselves at the mercy of kind hearts. Please, help us give Ujala the gift of hearing, to unlock a world she has yet to experience.”

However, amidst their despair, Ujala’s family has discovered a glimmer of hope: Transparent Hands.  Ujala’s parents wasted no time and initiated the registration process, praying for a chance to brighten their daughter’s future.
