Help Us Restore Khadija’s Hearing
Khadija Noor's Story
In the vibrant city of Peshawar, a little girl named Khadija Noor, at the tender age of five, faces a world where silence reigns. Deprived of the sweet melodies, joyful laughter, and familiar voices, Khadija longs for the gift of hearing. Today, we have an opportunity to change her life forever through a transformative cochlear implant surgery.
Khadija’s family consulted a doctor, and he recommended the cochlear implant surgery as her best hope for restoring the precious gift of hearing. This procedure involves the implantation of a device that bypasses the damaged parts of her ears, directly stimulating the auditory nerve and enabling sound perception. After this surgery, Khadija can experience the laughter of her siblings, the comforting words of her mother, and the gentle voice of her father.
Khadija’s father, a dedicated laborer, shoulders the responsibility of providing for his family. With a monthly income of a mere 20,000 rupees and an additional loan of 10,000 rupees to bear, he struggles to make ends meet. With five family members dependent on him, the cost of Khadija’s surgery remains beyond his financial means. He said in a depressed tone:
“My heart aches as I watch my little Khadija navigate a world of silence. I dream of giving her the gift of hearing, so she may experience the beauty of sound and connect with her loved ones in ways I can only imagine.”
