Saeeda Bibi's Story

Saeeda Bibi, a 1-year-old girl from Islamabad, has been suffering from palpitations and chest discomfort since birth. Simple activities like feeding or crying make her fatigued and breathless. Saeeda’s birth brought immense joy to her family. However, they noticed her deteriorating condition. They took her to a specialist, who ran some medical tests and diagnosed Saeeda with Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and right Coronary Cusp (RCC) prolapse leading to moderate Aortic Regurgitation (AR). These are congenital heart defects that disrupt the flow of blood in her body. To repair her heart defects, her doctor recommended open-heart surgery for VSD closure and AV repair. However, Saeeda’s family can’t pay for her surgery.

Without this surgery, Saeeda’s condition will continue to deteriorate, putting her life at risk. The doctor warned that delaying the procedure may lead to heart failure or even sudden complications that can be fatal.

Saeeda lives in a small rented home with her parents and four siblings. Her father is a daily wage laborer and makes just PKR 20,000 per month. Out of this, PKR 3500 goes towards house rent, and PKR 1000 for children’s school fees. Furthermore, they are burdened with a staggering loan of PKR 140,000. To make ends meet, the family has already taken a loan of PKR 140,000, which has only added to their burden. They are now emotionally and financially drained, unable to afford the high cost of Saeeda’s surgery on their own.

Her parents shared their emotions as follows:

“We want to see our daughter smile and play like other children, but we are helpless. Her life depends on this surgery, and we have no way to afford it. We request you to support our daughter’s life-saving surgery.”

Saeeda’s life is hanging in the balance, and with your support, she can get a second chance at life. Your donations can make all the difference.

Help us give Saeeda Bibi the healthy future she deserves!

Saeeda Bibi's Story

Saeeda Bibi, a 1-year-old girl from Islamabad, had been suffering from shortness of breath and chest discomfort since birth. Simple activities like crying or feeding made her breathless and tired. Worried about her condition, her parents took her to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing a series of tests and examinations, the doctor diagnosed Saeeda with Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and Right Coronary Cusp (RCC) prolapse, leading to moderate Aortic Regurgitation (AR). To correct these heart defects, the doctor advised open-heart surgery for VSD closure and AV repair. However, the cost of the surgery was overwhelming for her family.

Saeeda lives in a small rented home with her parents and four siblings. Her father, the sole provider for the family, is a daily wage laborer and earns just PKR 20,000 per month. This income is insignificant to cover their utility bills and educational expenses. After covering these expenses, they were left with nothing to set aside for her much-needed surgery. After struggling for a while, they found Transparent Hands and asked for help. Moved by her plea, we registered her case. Through the support of generous donors and the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation, we arranged her treatment.

On May 11, 2025, Saeeda was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital in Lahore. She received pre-operative care, and her surgery was scheduled for May 13, 2025. Dr. Asim Khan successfully performed her VSD closure and AV repair surgery. After receiving post-operative care, she was discharged in satisfactory condition on May 18, 2025.

Saeeda’s parents expressed their gratitude as follows: “Words can’t describe how grateful we are now. Before surgery, we were hopeless and scared about Saeeda’s life. After the surgery, we are overjoyed, knowing that our daughter is safe now. We extend our immense gratitude to you for supporting Saeeda’s surgery.”

Saeeda is now recovering well, and she will be able to grow and thrive in life like other kids of her age.

Her family is deeply thankful to you.
