Muqaddas Muzamil is a 24-year-old woman from Kasur, Punjab, who is 34 weeks pregnant with her second child. As she eagerly awaits the arrival of her baby, she also carries a growing fear about the delivery. Since she has undergone one previous C-section, doctors have recommended another surgical delivery as the safest option for both her and the unborn baby. Unfortunately, the cost of the procedure is beyond what her family can afford. Without the recommended C-section, Muqaddas and her baby may face serious complications during childbirth. Those who have already undergone a C-section face a greater risk of complications such as uterine rupture, severe bleeding, infection, and difficulties during labor. For Muqaddas, timely medical care is therefore not just a precaution. It may be essential to ensuring a safe delivery.
Muqaddas is a housewife and the mother of one young child. Her husband works as a laborer and is the family’s sole earning member, bringing home only PKR 25,000 each month. This modest income is used to cover all their household needs, including monthly utility bills of around PKR 2,000. The family lives in a modest home and carefully manages its limited resources. It’s not possible for them to save enough to pay for Muqaddas’s C-section. As her due date draws closer, the financial burden has become a source of constant worry. Yet, despite her fears, Muqaddas remains hopeful that she will soon welcome her baby safely into her arms.

“As the due date gets closer, my only wish is to safely hold my baby in my arms. My heart is full of worries, but I am sure that things will improve. Kindly help me undergo a safe C-section.”
