Secure Arham’s Future Through Cardiac Surgery

Meet Muhammad Arham, a 2-year-old boy from Sahiwal, who has never experienced the joy of a carefree childhood. Since birth, Arham has struggled with shortness of breath and chest discomfort. While other children of his age run around and laugh freely, Arham quickly becomes breathless even during mild physical activity. Worried about his worsening condition, his parents took him to a doctor, where a series of diagnostic tests, including an echocardiogram, were conducted. Arham was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) – a complex congenital heart defect that involves four heart abnormalities. To save Arham’s life, the doctor has recommended open-heart surgery for total correction. However, the cost of the surgery is out of his family’s financial reach.

Without this surgery, Arham’s condition will only deteriorate. He may suffer from repeated chest infections, delayed physical development, and heart failure. In severe cases, untreated TOF can even lead to sudden death. Time is running out, and surgery is his only hope for survival.

Arham’s father works as a laborer and earns just PKR 25,000 a month. He lives with his wife and two children in a modest two-room house. After paying PKR 1500 for utility bills and covering basic living expenses, there is nothing left to set aside for medical treatment. Despite their best efforts, they are trapped in a cycle of financial hardships and emotional distress.

Arham’s mother said with teary eyes:

“Watching my son gasp for breath every day is deeply painful for me. He wants to play with other kids, but his body doesn’t allow him to do so. I just want him to have a normal childhood, to run, laugh, and live without pain. Kindly help us save our little boy.”
