Eighteen years old Muhammad Shafiq, a resident of Pakpattan, suffered an unfortunate event eight months ago. He was shot in the leg during an open arms shooting. Later his wound got gangrenous. The doctors tried their best to save his leg but they could not. Unfortunately his right leg was amputated above the knee level.

Shafiq’s life has taken a tragic turn ever since. Due to lack of financial resources and inability to do anything because of his health condition. His family is struggling. Shafiq contacted us and requested assistance to get him a prosthetic leg. He shared his sorrow with Transparent Hands in the following expression:

“This disability has limited my life. Why am I suffering because of somebody else’s evil acts? I had nothing to do with that fight in which I got shot. Such people make other people’s life a living hell and still get away with it. But then there are people like you and your organization that restored my faith in humanity. My hopes are sky high that I will get the help I require. ”

Shafiq lives in his house with his parents, brother and sisters. He is unable to earn a living because of his health condition. His father works as a sanitary worker and hardly manages to put food on the table for a family of twelve people in that meager income. This prosthesis is crucial for Shafiq’s well-being and for his family’s survival.

Muhammad Shafiq's Story

Muhammad Shafiq, an 18-year-old resident of Pakpattan, was shot in his leg. He was rushed to the hospital. The doctors had to amputate his right leg above the knee level. Muhammad Shafiq was unable to run his daily errands. He needed an above-the-knee-level prosthesis. He was sent to Hope Rehabilitation Center where he received his new prosthetic leg after consultation with Dr. Khalid Niazi on 13.01.2022. He will be able to walk independently again. He was very thankful to those who donate to him.
