Faryal D/O Ameen's Story
Faryal, a three-year-old resident of the scenic Swat Valley, has been living in a silent world since the day she was born. Her parents were overjoyed when they welcomed their little bundle of joy into the world, but their happiness soon turned into worry and heartache when they realise that Faryal was unable to hear. As she grew older, it became evident that Faryal was missing out on the simple joys of life: the sound of her parents’ voices, the melodies of birdsong, and the laughter of children playing.
Concerned for their daughter’s well-being, Faryal’s parents took her to a local hospital for a thorough examination. After a series of tests, the devastating diagnosis was revealed: Faryal was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss, a condition that impairs the function of the inner ear. The doctor recommended cochlear implant surgery as the best chance for Faryal to gain her ability to hear.
However, Faryal’s parents, burdened by the weight of financial constraints, found themselves in a desperate situation. Her father, a daily wage earner, struggled to make ends meet with an income of only PKR 20,000 per month. The cost of the cochlear implant surgery was far beyond their means, and they were left feeling helpless and devastated. Her father said in despair:
“With your support through a donation, you can help us fulfill our greatest wish of giving Faryal the gift of hearing and a chance at a brighter future.”
In their darkest hour, a glimmer of hope emerged when a family friend told them about Transparent Hands. Filled with renewed determination, Faryal’s parents wasted no time in reaching out to us, registering her case in the hopes of securing the surgery that could change their daughter’s life forever.
